I joined A Glimmer of Hope in 2003 as a project manager and camp director. I assist in grant selection and project field visits for Glimmer Austin, and act as camp director at Camp Glimmer. Camp Glimmer is a special place to me, and every year I look forward to working with hundreds of youth from the Austin area at our first-rate camp.
I initially moved to Austin in 1999 to train for the Olympics. My experience with track started in high school where I acquired a number of accolades including track MVP and district champion in the 400-meter, triple jump, and mile relay. I placed 3rd in the State 400-meter race my senior year, then went on to become a four-time All-American sprinter and track MVP at Angelo State University. In 2004, I graduated from Huston-Tillotson University with a BA in Kinesiology.
In 2006 I established Running With Angels, (RWA), as a means to inspire kids to be the best they can be in whatever they do. Today I lead RWA with passion and commitment, overseeing a curriculum designed to enhance the mental poise, running technique, speed, and overall health of RWA clients. I currently attend Agapé Christian Ministries where I proudly serve as a Deacon and Armor Bearer to Bishop L.A. Wilkerson in Austin and Round Rock, Texas. I serve as Director of Agapé’s Health and Fitness Ministry, where I inspire others to raise funds for the American Heart Association and for needy and homeless families during the Christmas and back-to-school season.
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:24 NIV
